The proper solution to this issue is cosmetic bonding, and not Braces for orthodontic closure of the space.
Often there are "problems" regarding spacings or crowding which are not strictly and exclusively orthodontic in nature. Some patients for example have small "peg shaped" upper lateral incisors. Braces can help, but these teeth frequently require cosmetic adjustment after orthodontic treatment. Bonding or porcelain veneers allow the small undersized teeth to again appear with the proper width and size.
These spaces can not simply be closed with Orthodontics. Cosmetic Bonding or Porcelain Veneers need to be employed.
