Dr. Supan is fully Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is an Invisalign Certified Provider, and is also a  Certified Provider for  Invisible " iBraces". Dr. Supan is a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association, the AGD, and has Chaired many Committees for the Virginia Dental Association, notably in he areas of Infection Control and OSHA/Office Safety.

He currently serves as the American Dental Association (ADA) Liaison to ASHRAE (www.ashrae.org) to help ensure safe, suitable indoor air quality standards for America's Dental/Medical Offices. As a trained Epidemiologist, he formerly served as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service and was assigned to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.  While there,  he completed the Epidemiological Intelligence Service (EIS) Training Program. Dr. Supan was also assigned to  National Institutes of Health ( NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland with appointments to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Disorders ( NIDCR) as well as the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Dr. Supan grew up in Germany, Maine, and the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. He attended Junior High and High School in Hampton, Virginia,  He then completed his Bachelor's Degree at the  College of William and Mary in Williamsburg before attending Dental School at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

His wife Elaine is a Board Certified Dermatologist ( www.derm.com) and is also a graduate of the College of William and Mary and the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine. She has also completed residency training in several separate specialty fields at Georgetown University as well as The University of Rochester.

Dr. Supan's hobbies include Astronomy, Ham Radio ( licensed as "K-6-P-S"), flying Remote Control Airplanes, and Photography.
